You, flesh or Spirit? // Incubate #7

Flesh-Spirit-093015

Flesh ≈ anything that can be quantified by your mind, appearing and subsiding in time: people, places, things;
including thoughts, feelings, memories.

eating of the flesh = absorbing the teaching; not yet born of the spirit
You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.
Romans 8:9
For all who are being led by the Spirit of God,
these are sons of God.
Romans 8:14
The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are
the children of God
Romans 8:16
And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also
bear the image of the heavenly.
1 Corinthians 15:49
Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.
Galatians 5:25
The wind blows wherever it pleases.
You hear its sound, but you cannot tell
where it comes from or where it is going.
So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.
John 3:8
The Spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life.
John 6:63
Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
2 Corinthians 3:17
Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city,
the watchman waketh but in vain.
Psalm 127:1
Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.
John 3:3
Are you so foolish?
After beginning by means of the Spirit, are you now trying to finish by means of the flesh?
Galatians 3:3
He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.
John 6:56
So it is written:
“The first man Adam became a living being”;
the last Adam, a life-giving spirit.
1 Corinthians 15:45
“Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples from within you will be separated; one people will be stronger than the other, and the older will serve the younger.”
Genesis 25:23

Where to Go? // Incubate #5

Where-to-go

Where to go?
We love Him, because He first loved us
I John 4:19

They exchanged the truth about God for a lie,
and worshiped and served created things
rather than the Creator – who is forever praised.
Amen.
Romans 1:25

Now this is eternal life:
that they know you, the only true God,
and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
John 17:3

If they have escaped the corruption of the world
by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
and are again entangled in it and are overcome,
they are worse off at the end than they were
at the beginning.
2 Peter 2:20

You study the Scriptures diligently
because you think that in them you have eternal life.
These are the very Scriptures that testify about me,
yet you refuse to come to me to have life.

The ego imagines it has to give up everything, but it is merely a drama queen. In fact, it is the ego that has to be given up!

In the state of personhood, you imagine you are giving up all your joy, freedom and fun when you choose the Truth.
But fun, joy and freedom arise from the true Self and not from the mind.

The common man’s worldly pursuits and enjoyment comes mainly through the senses and mind which are not the source of real joy, but the sage’s supreme joy springs from his own effortless being — free of attachment, imagination and fear he lives in continuous peace, contentment and joy.

When you discover the Truth, you do not give up anything — except delusion. 4

Mooji, Monte Sahaja 2015

  1. QUOTE: “I fail to recognize my own harvest when they appear in my world, but I cannot deny there’s a law that supports every phenomenon in the world. Therefore, be not deceived, for God is not mocked. ‘As a man sows, so shall he reap.’ (Galatians 6:7) And I am sowing — morning, noon and night by what I entertain in my imagination, for that is Christ Jesus.

  2. Can you “do” the change — by effort and eagerness — or do you need to hush? There is a difference between childish and child-like. “Truth is not a cluster of concepts.”

  3. QUOTE: “What is the use of taking thought for the details of your life when within you there is this Father who, by reason of divine Wisdom, knoweth your need before you do, who by virtue of divine Love, it is His good pleasure to give you the Kingdom?”

  4. Ego ≈ Being identified with the person you believe yourself to be, based on appearance, hearsay, information, pleasure and pain memory, mental reasoning and assumption.

Matthew 13 // Incubate #3

The Parable Of The Sower

The disciples came to him and asked, “Why do you speak to the people in parables?”

11 He replied, “Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. 12 Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. 13 This is why I speak to them in parables:

QUOTE: "There is a divine spiritual Truth behind every fable, behind every myth, behind every fairy story. And the purpose of turning a Truth into a story was originally to hide it from the profane, to hide it from those who could not appreciate it, who could not realize it, who could not accept it, and who might reject it either disdainfully or sometimes even destructively."

“Though seeing, they do not see;
though hearing, they do not hear or understand.

14 In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah:
“ ‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding;
you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.

15 For this people’s heart has become calloused;
they hardly hear with their ears,
and they have closed their eyes.

The heart hardens if we go to our mind for every answer or guidance; when there is no room for intuition; when we do not trust anymore in Life; when there is no space anymore, inside; when we are only concerned with "objects" -- the created things -- but never turn to the subject, the creator, God, our Self.

Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
hear with their ears,
understand with their hearts
and turn, and I would heal them.’

"I would heal them" does not refer to a man, called Jesus who lived 2000 years ago. This I is your Consciousness, not your person. “Closer is He than breathing, and nearer than hands and feet.” ―Alfred Tennyson

16 But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear. 17 For truly I tell you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.

QUOTE: "As you know, all of the Bible stories are your stories; its characters live only in the mind of man. They have no reference at all to any person, who lived in time and space, or to any event that ever occurred upon earth."

18 “Listen then to what the parable of the sower means:

19 When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path.

20 The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. 21 But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away.

22 The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful.

23 But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”

He, Christ in you
To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches
of this mystery, which is Christ in you,
the hope of glory.
Colossians 1:27

I have told you these things,
so that in me you may have peace.
In this world you will have trouble.
But take heart!
I have overcome the world.
John 16:33

My dear children,
for whom I am again in the pains of childbirth
until Christ is formed in you,
how I wish I could be with you now
and change my tone,
because I am perplexed about you!
Galatians 4:19

You study the Scriptures diligently
because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures
that testify about me, yet you refuse
to come to me to have life.
John 5:39

And if the Spirit of him who raised
Jesus from the dead is living in you,
he who raised Christ from the dead
will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.
Romans 8:11

“Because he loves me,” says the LORD,
“I will rescue him;
I will protect him,
for he acknowledges my name.”
Psalm 91:14

For this I toil, struggling with all his energy
that he powerfully works within me.

Demystifying God

For me the Bible is an amazingly relevant "book".

I experience it as an invitation to explore, and re-discover what is timelessly present beyond the shifting surface mind.

To invest more sensitivity towards examining the beliefs and concepts I entertain, encounter and suffer since uncounted years!

My joy, interest and attention are not in religion, not in mental gymnastics, not in moral guidelines, peer pressure or in future hope.

Rather to unveil my immediate beliefs and identity, in the light of simple introspection: Truth is not a cluster of concepts.

…there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.

Romans 14:14

For he that medleth with mens Religion in any part, medleth with their custome, nay, with their freehold; and though they finde no content in that which they have, yet they cannot abide to heare of altering.

Preface, King James Bible 1611

How to read scripture without getting entangled in religious doctrines? But instead to stay open and fresh, as if we read it the very first time!
